The Savvy Hijabi: Deals Deals Deals
March 26th, 2009There are a lot of sites that offer a ‘deal of the day.’
By googling this you can find some sites that will aggregate these for you, but they tend to focus on techgeeks and contain too much random junk for my needs.
I will give you few of my own sites I check daily:
Garnet Hill
They feature women’s and children’s clothing, and bedding. They feature natural fibers and have a lot of organic products as well. Their women’s clothing is loose, and their Sale of the Day is a great feature. Since I get their catalogs and am on their email list, I get prior notice of sales before they reach the public. Using Sale of the Day, I bought a beautiful (ungranny) flannel nightgown and an organic cotton jersey smocked nightgown for less than half price. I also got an Iceland heavy full length black sweater coat for more than 85% off of the original price.
Travelsmith
They have great clothes that specialize in being lightweight, wrinkle free with a lot of mix and match. Each catalog/website season offers a couple of three piece outfits (long jacket, top, loose pants) that make great hijab. They have excellent customer service as well.
Altrec’s Deal of the Day
This is a sporting goods company that focuses on outdoors clothing and equipment.
Sahalie
A similar company, with more ‘after’ the outdoors clothing. They have a “Rock Bottom Deal,” that offers similar products at great prices.
Department stores that do not exist in my wee little town like Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor, Saks (watch, they are likely to go under), and Barneys may be expensive, but, believe me, the more expensive the store, the bigger the discounts for sales and if you are on their email list, they will offer you promotion codes on top of their sales!
Many sites also have their ‘outlet’ online.
Soft Surroundings is one of them. I have noticed they have a new trend of also offering sales on the regular site as well. They had lots of tunics for sale and emailed promotional codes to online email subscribers and voila! It was like they were giving them away!
Monterey Bay has also had some incredible deals.

They have sold these brands in the past week: Juicy Couture, Miss Sixty, and Diesel.
Upcoming sales are James Jeans and True Religion clothing.
