Savvy has been doing a bit of prowling for you shoppers, and has a few new results to report.

I do not think anyone can complain anymore about the lack of scarves available! Whether online or in department stores, scarves are everywhere and like everything else, they go on sale.

I have bought Raj scarves on two separate occasions from the sample sites Ideeli.com and Gomattagirls.com. I was very happy with both sites’ service and products. Gomaatagirls also had some new Spring/Summer Raj scarves, which are great because they are light weight.

Remember when you are washing these-only do a cold water hand wash, with a bit of shampoo (and I mean a tad bit) and perhaps a spoon of salt. This is to set the dye. Do not be alarmed when you see it bleed into the sink-they will not be faded. These scarves dry in about fifteen minutes, which is another plus.

When I was in Nordstrom’s  last week  saw the very same scarves for sale (and I was wearing one as well!), well, I was glad I paid $19.00 instead of $38!

Just when I think I have found all of the online sample sites possible, I found another one. This one is for mom-to-be, parents, and those who want to get gifts for the wee ones. Designer duds and décor may be found on Gilt, Hautelook, and Billiondollarbabes on occasion, but this site is solely devoted to the under twelve set (although I spotted some Dad’s offerings to match their boy’s togs today).

This is The Mini Social (for Mom, baby, and child, www.theminisocial.com). You can register on your own, but if you need any help, just shoot me an email. At up to 60% off, today’s goods are: Azul swimwear, Cool Change Kids, Kingsley Men and Boys (hmmm…worn by the bebes Jolie-Pitt), and Kids Case (birth to 12 yrs.). Thursday will see Fatboy hammocks and what I call outdoor squillows or giant squishy pillows as outdoor furniture, and Friday will start the Goorin Brothers line. A portion of their proceeds goes to Shoe4Africa and the United States Fund for UNICEF.

Speaking of doing good, Hautelook starts their New Yorkers for Children sale where you will find 100% of the proceeds from high end designer goods going to help foster care in New York. They will start selling Superga shoes for women and kids on Friday. These fashionable sneakers are Italy’s answer to Keds (and extremely comfortable).

Another under the radar site known for their design goods like furniture, but also carrying designer baby and kids’ clothing and baby slings, bedding, diaper bags, etc. as well as other homewear items,  is Designpublic.com.  I tend to think of them as the hipster parents’ go to site, and I love that they feature great design that is not “out of ‘within reach’ prices.” Go to the outlet and/or sample sale at:

http://www.designpublic.com/outlet/ .

Jalda (they of the exquisite leather and exotic skin bags and clutches) is having a ‘secret sale,’ but if you go over to http://jaldastyle.com/sale/ you too, can see the sale. I like their patent Selena clutch in sky blue. At 83% off, it is now $75 (retailed at $335).

Likewise,  James Perse is having a private sale (http://www.jamesperse.com/private-sale/) for men and women. This open drape jacket is $55 (previously $90) in winter white is comfortable as well as beautiful. There are other sweaters, cardigans, and blouses available.
Have you seen the ethnic styled tunics designed by former socialites that go for over $200 (and use ‘kurta’ like they invented the word!)?

Why not get the real thing from Artizara.com. Their prices and quality are much higher than most of the tunics in the department stores, with hand crafted details and sizes that fit ‘normal’ people.
