Today we’re giving away a body splash from Victoria’s Secret called “Pure Seduction”.
It’s a great scent that is light enough for summer and perfect for an evening out.

If you’d like to win this item, simply tell us where you find the best hijabs (scarves)? Is it a specific online retailer or do you make them yourself? Maybe you have a great little boutique you visit for your scarves?
We can’t wait to read your responses!

assalmualaikum
we love giving each other hijab gifts. i have a hijab shop near my home so usually i buy scarves from there. its a bit expensive though. i’ve found a really cheap place for buying hijabs now.. and i’ve got them in all shades and colours
i’ll give its credit to all of my family.. cause no matter where they go they get me a scarf as a gift. even my online friends send me scarves cause they know i love experimenting with scarves
i started doing hijab when everybody else in my family was against it. so it was really difficult to find good hijabs in the beginning. so whenever i used to go to a tailors shop i used to tell him to dye a piece of cloth matching my clothes. but now alhamdulillah most of my family is hijabi
Pretty interesting name for a product presumably intended (in the present circumstances) for use by a hijabi…
I usually stock on hijab from convention bazaar or sometime online specially when there is a good deal
I think hijabis use all kinds of products because we’re women after all
And I’m sure tons of us shop at Victoria’s Secret. What do you ladies think? Does hijab mean you can’t be a seductress in your own home?
It’s just a perfume name. You don’t shop for perfumes based on the name but by the scent.
A lot of my hijabs are from conventions but when I need a specific color or style asap, I go to a fabric store and make a wrap. Also, old dupattas can be made into a pretty hijab.
Mariam,
Let’s see. Is the owner of the following male or female? No makeup, a few bottles of perfume (most of which were presents from other people). Two tubs of colorless dry skin cream, the usual shampoo and soap, and that’s it. ???
About being seductive in one’s own home… Of course it is OK to be sexual with one’s husband. But isn’t there a certain line beyond which one becomes a sex object? Isn’t that what hijab is supposed to counteract?
N,
I admit to liking men’s perfume for myself, which could raise eyebrows given I’m female, but I think I’d draw the line at a product whose name suggested immorality, use of illicit drugs, etc.
The dupatta is a great idea. Somewhere in my personal effects I have a gorgeous red one so encrusted with metal work that it weighs four pounds. No doubt it’s meant to be worn at one’s wedding or something.
My favorite ‘scarf haunts’: two Persian shops, several Indian shops and a little boutique that sells clothing designed by Polish artists. All in the Old City of Krakow.
I have also noticed that amazingly many otherwise non-hijabi sewing patterns include wraps that absolutely could be used as hijabs.
caraboska,
i’m not sure what the big deal is about the name, all i care about is how i use it and where, no matter what the name is, sometime we make things diffecult with no reason
i agree sis why make things more difficult for ourselves as long as we arent doing haraam to ourselves or others!! but i was taken back by the line ‘and perfect for an evening out’ i didnt think we were supposed to wear scents outside our home?
When I wrote perfect for an evening out, I meant that it is such a light scent that you can barely smell it. It’s one of the great things about a body splash. Unless you dump the entire bottle on yourself, you can spritz it and treat it almost like a deodorant. Just enough scent that you personally can smell it and feel fresh when you go out.
I would like to add again, that this blog does not make any religious rulings or attempt to even tackle any religious subjects, these are merely descriptions for a broad audience.
salaam sis im not tryin to get into deen or anything like that but i wasnt sure what you meant at first i had an idea but still wasnt sure. if it smells good i would buy it even if its faint tho i wouldnt wear it outside besides the fact that my husband would flip out on me, lol, i myslef am too scared someone would smell it on me thats just me but as you said we are still women being feminine doesnt have to dissapear
No worries Sera
I totally understand what you’re saying.

Congratulations to the winner! Enjoy!! As far as finding scarves I don’t have many and I can count them all on one hand I suppose! I’ve purchased mines from ebay mostly. I hope to be able to afford more soon. I guess flea markets would be worth a look? Where I live is hard to find anything so probably on line is my best bet. As far as home life, I feel that what you do in your home with your family/hubby is your business. Nothing more I can say about that. For the wearing of scents, I really enjoy body scents, whether soaps, scrubs, lotions/creams, deodorants, perfumes, etc. I’ve recently taken a shine to perfumed oils (no alcohol – halal). I think body splashes are great because they are very mild in scent and don’t overpower at all. I wear them especially after an evening bath when I want to have scent on or during the summer months when I want something lighter to wear. I am the one who notices the scent because no one outside of my family gets THAT close to me to really smell it! Besides certain scents applied before bed help me sleep better! I wear them for myself. If I didn’t like the title to the scent but loved the scent itself I would pour it out into another bottle. I think it’s what you read into and make over of things that make them more offensive than they really are at times. I’m just glad we are all individuals and can differ wonderfully.
I usually send my mom to buy me hijabs she lives in Saudi Arabia they got good ones and very cheap. Shukraan.
Caraboska,
