A nice little article published online by Lagniappe Magazine about a woman’s experience with hijab in Mobile, Alabama.

I generally like this type of articles. The thing I found most touching about this particular one actually had nothing to do with hijab – it was the person who mentioned neighbors coming by the mosque after 9/11 to make sure everyone was safe… I am happy that at least some people in Mobile have that kind of attitude, that that can be part of Muslims’ experience over there. Insha’Allah everyone will be on the receiving end of such kindness at least sometimes, the more the better!

I agree with caraboska and it’s really nice to see the first comment from floaty06 on there too. Perhaps every little bit of teaching and learning will help erase some of the ignorance and misconceptions that people have.
