Beaded hijabs will be hot this winter
July 9th, 2009It appears that the beaded hijab is going to be quite the accessory this coming winter.
Click here to read about designer Christian Lacroix’s apparent fascination with head coverings and to see the latest pics from his fashion show.
Tip: Want to be ready for the trend when it hits? Use the photos for inspiration. Make a Spanish wrap with a beaded scarf over your hijab so you can show off the beading. It’ll pop out and look great at a fancy event. Or do the “pirate style” hijab and let the beads dangle down your back.
Do you have any special ways to wear a beaded hijab?

Great ideas!
Now I’m off to read all your other articles on the examiner- how did I not know about that?!?
I think all of these styles are beautiful. I don’t have a beaded hijab….yet! Christian Lacroix’s venture into hijabi land is so very wonderful to see! I guess he sees the market for it now and how profitable it could be for him.
Clare, I’ve been writing for Examiner for awhile, but haven’t mentioned anything yet as I plan to write a post about it soon
You may notice the articles are similar to the one’s I post on Hijabtrendz.
Jodi, You can find beaded hijabs almost anywhere these days, I hope I can get my hands on some and possibly post them for a giveaway!
You know what? I just realized that I do have a beaded hijab! It is definitely for wintertime, being it’s made of wool, but it’s very colorful with a large-scale paisley design. I wear it the same way I wear scarves without beads.
I have heard rumors that this may be Lacroix’ last collection. I hope not, because I like what I see here… Especially the Spanish wrap with the giant pillbox hat on top. The wrap is tied very nicely masha’Allah, and the pillbox is just super.
Caraboska,
You’re right, I just read an article that this was his farewell fashion show because of money issues.
Let’s hope that was just some hype… I can’t believe a famous designer would have money problems.. but I guess the economy is getting to everyone.
