pop culture hijabi

There are a lot of fashion trends out there that take a while to grow on me. Skinny jeans, for example. I don’t love all of them, but I don’t hate them anymore either. They work on certain outfits and on certain people.
I also instantly hated leggings. I still don’t like them most of the time, but once you see them enough, they seem more normal.

One trend I can’t see ever liking is harem pants. It seems like they would be perfect for Muslim women, since they’re inspired by Eastern trends and are loose around the hips. But there is no way I can see them somewhere and think, “Those look really cute.”

I think it goes back to being Pakistani. We wear similar pants with our shalwar kameez, and I’ve never really liked them. The small ankle openings really bother me. I think they look fine when worn with shalwar kameez, but I would prefer not to have to wear them.

So are there any trends out there that you all love? Or are there items that have become popular and you just can’t understand why?
