Lovely long dresses
September 6th, 2009We’re not too into velvet, but if you’re looking for a nice long dress to wear for Eid or any other special occasion this fall/winter velvet can be incorporated in a fashionable way. What we do like about these dresses is that you don’t have to do too much tweaking since they’re already long sleeve.
They are all from The Pyramid Collection:

Burgundy Velvet Yule Dress $99.95

Taffeta and Velvet Dress $99.95

White Velvet Dress $89.95
Which dress would you wear? What would you pair it with?

First of all, always trousers under everything. In these cases, something soft and not bulky. The purple one, for example, I might wear with trousers the color of the lining – maybe with a decorative edge at the cuff, and a hijab in the same color. The white – any contrasting color – with precautions to make sure it didn’t show through the dress – and a hijab in the same color.
Caraboska not sure about the trousers thing
I’d rather keep it nice and loose with some control pantyhose or spanx underneath to smooth out the bumps hehe.
One of them at least appears to be a wraparound look – might be a bit dangerous without trousers
But I wear trousers under everything anyway
BTW What are Spanx?
I’m glad there are long sleeved, long dress options, but these styles look like dresses from a Renaissance fair.
They are a little like something from back in the day, but I think that’s the theme of the catalog that sells these items. You could always spice it up a little with your own embellishments/accessories hehe
I honestly dont like the dresses too much, they look very mid-evil European.
