For all my oily-skinned friends
October 3rd, 2009I made a great discovery just in time for Eid.
I had to replace my makeup and found out that Bare Minerals comes in matte formula now.
As someone who has VERY oily skin, this is a God-send. So far, it seems to be working well. The makeup absorbs excess oil and keeps me from looking shiny. I’ve tried other things to control the oil. Blotting sheets are a temporary fix, and it’s annoying to pull them out every few hours.
I also really like Mac’s foundation primer, but it always makes me break out the next day. So I’m pretty satisfied with this solution.
As a quick side note, I ran into Target the other day (I literally have to run in and out with blinders because I get sidetracked so easily. As it is, I bought a pair of purple shoes. Story of my life.) and caught a quick glance of the Anna Sui collection. I didn’t linger (see above parenthetical) but it looked cute. There seemed to be a lot of dresses that can easily be worn on pants.
Once I keep up with my resolution to save money for a bit, I may go back. Although it’s probably better if I don’t, since I lingered on the shoes page for a while when I was looking for links to the collection.

Check with Clarins they have a powder to absorbs excess oil. It lasts a long time.
I never knew Bare Minerals made stuff in matte.. is it still loose powder or is it a cream? Fill us in!
It’s still the loose powder. I think the matte formula is completely new. I got lucky that I had to buy new makeup right when it was introduced.
They did change the packaging a bit, though, and I love it. You can close the inside now so powder doesn’t fall out everywhere.
oooh that’s nice. I HATE it when you open the lid and the powder flies everywhere. I just feel like I’m watching my money go down the drain.
I’ll have to look into bare minerals again. I’ve been using Korres but now that it’s winter a tinted SPF cream is just too heavy for me.
I have never tried any powder makeups because I feel like they would make my dry skin look even more dry. do they have options for dry skinned people like myself?
I’m not sure if Bare Minerals has options for dry skin, though I know they do have moisturizer. I’m afraid I’ve never really had to deal with dry skin. Anyone know of good options?
