This fall there are five hot trends sweeping shoe stores and according to InStyle magazine they are:

  • Animal Prints
  • Heavy Hardware
  • Day-to-Night Flats
  • Extreme Platforms
  • Exotic Skins

If you love shoes and think you can’t pull off the trend unless you spend more than $500 on a designer pair… don’t worry! We’ve put together a little collage of some decently priced items that should keep you hip and happy:

Fall 2009 shoe trends

Pictured above from top row (left-right):

Naughty Monkey $35.00, BCBG $89.90

Guess $110.00, Chinese Laundry $58.95

BCBG $109.95, Steve Madden $79.95

Marc by Marc Jacobs $310.00, Michael by Michael Kors $164.95

Via Spiga $148.00, Calvin Klein $98.00

Note: Some items are particularly pricey because they’re made out of animal leather and are not synthetic. Keep these styles in mind if you don’t want to spend that much on shoes and you’ll soon enough see the other brands begin to imitate these designs. You may not be the first person out there with them, but you can definitely pat yourself on the back when you think of how much you ended up saving by waiting it out.
