It’s not surprising, but once again in the news we have an issue of Muslim women’s hijab fashion.
Dozens of news agencies have picked up the piece on Harrods and there people for and against the latest move to sell abayas in the mainstream department store.

The abayas for sale are designed by the Beljafla sisters whom we interviewed exactly a year ago about their couture abayas.
The best part of this outfit is the effortlessness of it all!
This abaya is so regal that you can totally wear it for the next formal event you have.
Let the earrings peek slightly from under your hijab if you know how to make it look good.
Otherwise play around with the scarf and show-off the necklace. You can either tuck the scarf in or tie it behind you so the ends dangle down your back.
BONUS TIP: If you’re ever worried about what you’re going to wear to a wedding, graduation, banquet etc. there are so many abayas in a variety of colors/fabrics on the market that can easily work as a beautiful gown.

Our particular interest is on the girl in the documentary who wants to design “colorful” abayas as opposed to the black ones that dominate the market.
We like her hijab style and we find the whole video to be rather intriguing. It seems like women will never win whether they live overseas or here in the West. Can’t we just wear whatever we want?
