The Oscars are this Sunday and if you’re like us you may want to check out the pre-show to get a sneak peek at some of the trends and of course those gorgeous gowns!

We’ll be tweeting live starting from the pre-show on some of our favorite looks from the red carpet and our ideas on how to hijabify the outfits.

Did you know that some of the stars will be using special products to get ready for their big debut down the red carpet?

Hijabtrendz will have an exclusive review of the makeup line “Smart Cover” which is a product used by celebrity makeup artist Christina Smith. It’s used to cover up tattoos, dark circles, blemishes, etc. and you can mix and match the different colors to make a custom shade for yourself. We’ll be trying that out and doing a before/after photo for you to see what it does.

And coming soon is a giveaway for a lunchtime chemical peel courtesy of Dr. Lawrence Moy. A lot of Hollywood stars get their skin glowing with this procedure because it helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and best of all it helps to reduce the damage your skin may already have from the sun.

Baraka is holding a fashion event and launching their latest collection on Friday March 5th 2010.

We would love to attend this event, but we don’t live in Australia which is where it’s taking place!

According to our recent email from the company it’s going to be an evening of experts in fashion & style, health, nutrition & well being, fitness massage and motivation. and they are advising attendees to “dress to be your best”.

If you’re lucky enough to be passing through, or happen to be a hijabi living down under, do attend and let us know how it goes.
