  1. Good show Mariam! I’ll have to try the hibiscus flower drink.

    Keep up the good work,
    Fatima

  2. Thanks I’m glad you like it :)
I hope you enjoy the drink.. it’s so good.. but sometimes it can be a little tart if you don’t put enough sugar hehe.

  3. Salaam!

You’re show is so cool! Keep it up, Insha’Allah.

I also will be trying the hibiscus water.

  4. Yay :) now I’m craving hibiscus water.. I’ll have to make some today!

  5. Assalam-U-Alaikum,
Let us all now join and increase the amaount of Islamic Media out there..

    Inshan

  6. Mmmm…hibiscus water sounds delish! I’ll be trying it, too! Thank you, Mrs. Sobh, for supplying us with such high-quality information like no one else ever has before!

  7. 3-2-1……I love the bloopers!! Those were too funny. I LOVE hijabtrendz TV.

  8. hannah (a different one!!)

I think it’s great that you have a non-hijabi to demonstrate on. It makes what you are doing step-by-step much clearer!

  9. Assalamu 3alaikum,

HtLovin’ :D . Ok that was lame, but seriously, this is an awesome show. Keep up the good work mashallah!

  10. Thanks Saifa :)

  11. Are you insane?!?!? This is the most boring show I’ve seen. I applaud you for trying but the CONTENT of the show is elementary. You need to get rid of that ugly background and hit the streets. Where are your interviews? And you call yourself a journalist. Can you please let the girl who has been tortured through these hijab sequences smile or speak? :-)

  12. Eram,
Thank you for your criticism. If only you knew how much work goes into putting something together. :) I do these videos completely by myself in addition to having a full time job, raising a toddler and being pregnant with another baby on the way. So before you criticize the “look” or “content” of the program, please try to put yourself in the shoes of those who are trying hard to make a difference and slowly improve each time around.

  13. I really love your videos Masha Allah Sister Mariam, you are so beautiful and wellspoken. Wish you lots of sucess and thanks for all the tips. May Allah bless you and your babies. Ameen.

    Liz

  14. Thank you Liz! :)

  15. Hi my name is Naimai am 13 years old and i love Hijab trendz sooo much, me and my mom always watch it together, and its so inspiraing. Love the show, and ur the best Mariam!!!

  16. Oh you are precious Naima! I want to second what she has said Mariam. My girls and I also love Hijabtrendz. You have two generations loving everything about it. :) I’m backtracking through your post so I can catch up with my girls. I have learned so much from the post, the podcast and the videos. I now know more than I ever have and I am very thankful. Thank you for all that you do. It is very much appreciated and you are loved! Congrats on your lovely daughter and on your coming baby. Your husband and family must be so very proud of you. Such a wonderful time of life.

I was wondering if there is a specific post on your personal beauty routine, make-up, cosmetics, etc., and what fragrances and types of hijabs you prefer? I think that would be very interesting as we all can see that you are so beautiful inside and out. I know you did mention a facial cleanser that you liked on one episode? Thank you!

  17. Jodi and Naima thank you both for your comments. It’s nice to get positive feedback :)

Regarding my personal beauty routines, I’ll be sure to post some more on that. I’m trying to recall which posts I specifically talk about this stuff. And I think about 2 weeks ago I discussed organic and natural beauty products that I’ve started using because it’s more gentle on the skin.

In any case I’ll be sure to write more about that… I’ll also be putting up a search button so you can type in the specific words you’re looking for and get all the posts relating to it.

  18. Asalamualaikum

Hey, this is a great site, and it’s great. I just had one comment, and I hope it’s not taken offensively. When doing anything for the sake of muslims, we should also make sure that we stay within the guidelines of islam. For instance, I don’t think it’s necessary to play music on your videos. Or use a female that is not wearing hijab on your videos, as it is available to anyone, male or female. Can you not use a model? Hope this is taken constructively.

    Keep up the great work!

  19. No offense taken :)
Just to let you know the model is not Muslim.

  20. Oh my God people. Look it up! Music is NOT haram unless you ALLOW it to take you away from your obligatory duties, or the content of the music or song is bad! IslamonlineDOTnet . Enough said!!

  21. I love your videos, can you show us how you tie your hijab?
    Keep up the good work!

  22. Thanks Saleema!
The way I tie my hijab is exactly as shown in the videos :) It just takes a little adjustment to make it more personalized. Hope that makes sense :)

  23. I wear long sleeve tee with my sleeveless top, and it makes me look big, is their any long sleeve top that is short in length.
    Need your help!!!!!

  24. Saleema I just noticed your message sorry!
You wanted a long sleeve tee with your sleeveless top… well you’ll have to look for fabric that is very light so that it doesn’t bulk up underneath. or just cut the bottom off your shirt if it’s too long and it’s bother you.
I’ll keep my eyes peeled for some other alternatives.
You can also try a really tight body suit or tshirt that you can tuck in your pants/skirt then have the sleeveless top come over it and layer.

  25. Beautiful show Mariam you should really be proud of your self :)

  26. MashAllah! May Allah reward you for your efforts. . .aameen.
I’m watching all the way from South Africa and I find the whole episode per week idea extremely creative! :)
All the best with your efforts especially considering you’re such a busy lady already! Ramadaan Mubarak!

    Salaam

  27. I really luv this song!:)

Makes me feel proud to be a hijabi!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1dhkKQDPG4

  28. It is very painful to see that you have turned an islamic rule into a trend. People now wear hijab not because they fear Allah, but because it is a trend. Shame on you.

  29. Mehmed, I’m going to guess that you’re a man and don’t really understand women. Hijab is definitely done for different reasons, and that is up to each individual to decide. These videos are informational for women to see that hijab can be beautiful while fulfulling its goal.

  30. mariam, Even being a muslim or christian is up to a person. We are not discussing this, what we should discuss is the truth, do we agree on this? because I wouldn’t like to push a person when he stands beside a cliff, instead, I would like to pull him back. Wouldn’t you?

Now, what I see in hijab blogs is that, blog owners shows it as a part of trend, not as a part of religion. Is this up to a person to decide? Why don’t you help him or her decide according to islam rather than trend?

    That is what I mean.

  31. hi my name is Kate I am not Muslim but I choice to wear modest clothing. I just read this post
    “Saleema
I wear long sleeve tee with my sleeveless top, and it makes me look big, is their any long sleeve top that is short in length.
    Need your help!!!!!”
and I know a site you might be interested in. http://www.mollysclothing.com/index.php
They sell long sleeved shirt the end under the bar line so that you can add sleeves with out adding bulk.

  32. I really like all the videos that you post, content on this site is very useful. Thanks to Mariam for making the effort, Hijab is obligation but it doesn’t have to look ugly. I am always looking for good ideas when it comes to wearing hijab and learning about lifestyles of other muslim women. It makes me upset when people are so quick in criticizing someone’s efforts, keep up good work Mariam. Hugs.

    Amna

  33. Kate thanks for the link I’ll have to check it out! :)

Amna, thank you for reading Hijabtrendz and watching the videos, I hope you’ll keep coming back and enjoy what you see :) As always feel free to let me know if there is anything you’d like to see that’s not currently being covered.

  34. I like your banana bread recipe and how you showed the ingredients and commentary.

  35. Well done Mariam!!!Bravo!

I’m very proud of you, you’re muslim live in in Europe country(or American) and you have a job and also you’re mashaalah a succeseful mother!God Bless you!Wa islamu idaki a la barnamj!I know it’s really hard for you,but you did it.
You see,i’m from country where any religion was prohibited and thank God i married arab and knew Islam, and i started to look for a new ways of wearing hijab and muslim clothes and in the same time to be a fashionable person,’cause in CIS countries people do not appreciate too much muslims, unfortunately. And thanks to you a lot of my friends found out the way to wear according Islam.Thank you again and again!

  36. As’salaamu alaikum! I love your videos, especially all the food recipes and surprise tips (e.g. exercising, keeping a positive mood, moisturizing). Jazaka’Allah =)!

  43. Hi mariam, i hope u do well..
I’ve just discovered your website, it’s really cool.. I think that muslim women need these kind of websites to show to the rest of the world that a muslim lady can be modern.. Sorry I don’t speak English very well, i have so many thing to say, to ask but i have some difficulties to express my ideas in English..
I’m from France, so i usually speak french..
You know that in France it’s forbidden to wear the Hijab in schools and universities, it’s also hard to find work while putting it..
    How about USA?

  44. Imenou,

thanks for checking out the site! :)
Please feel free to ask any questions or email me directly info at hijabtrendz dot com.

I’m sorry to hear about the situation in France, I believe Turkey is the same way. It’s so strange to me because here in the United States we believe in freedom of religion, so we can wear hijab anywhere. Although sometimes for certain jobs it can be hard because people don’t want to see a hijabi for example on Television.

I hope this answers your questions?

  45. Hi! Thank you for answering.. !
I’ve heard in CNN that Hijab is just an arab tradition, it has nothing to do with religion, do you agree?
Actually, I study economic sciences and some politics.. So I had a discussion with one of my professors about Hijab, and he send to me an article about it that he has written ..
It’s said in the article that before Islam Arab ladies were accustomed to put the Hijab, and then after Islam their way of putting changed a little bit. In the Koran, there are no evidence of the obligation to wear the Hijab for ladies. It looks like a arab costum which was imposed to the rest of muslims with the invasion of the arabic culture.
    That’s what was explained..
What do you personaly think about it?
I hope I made myself clear, and that my english is understandable lol

    Wa Salam Aleikom!

I know also another English website which writes about the hijab and of Islam. she explains very well for the people who don’t know the religion very well or to reinforce your el-iman.
