New feature on Hijabtrendz is awesome!

At least we think so :)

If you’ve noticed below we have a brand new toolbar (it’s different from the hijab fashion toolbar).

This one enables us to connect directly with you!

We have some exciting features we’ll be adding to it in the near future so keep your eye out for alerts. The alerts will be used sparingly to update you on giveaways, winners and other important news, so don’t worry we will not be bombarding you.

If you don’t like the toolbar you can minimize it and it will be out of your way. But if you want to chat with us, check out the latest happenings or even get to know other readers, this is the place to do it.

You never have to leave the website to check your other favorite places like twitter, youtube or facebook. It’s all here for your convenience.

Feel free to play around with it and find out what all the cool buttons do.

We hope you enjoy it and we’d love to hear your thoughts.

This feels like the beginning of something totally awesome and we’re excited to share it with you!

Hijab Style File: Glitzy prayer clothes

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

If you want some nice hijab for prayer then check out salah clothing based in Germany.

Salah literally means prayer so in essence it’s “prayer clothing”. They come in a variety of colors and we have to say we’ve never seen anything like it.

There are also some unique handmade under caps for sale in a satin type material, so if you’re looking for those Turkish hijab style under scarves this might be a great option.

What do you think of these? Would you wear something special just for prayer?

We Have a Winner!

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Zainab from San Francisco, California is our winner this week. She’s going to get the designer Cole Haan Wedge Sandals.

Congratulations Zainab!

Here’s the winning entry:

“This summer I hope to get a job and finally help out with the household expenses. I already had my exotic summer last year which involved 6 months of traveling around the world (9 countries ending with pilgrimage to Makkah).

Now its back to the grind. My husband is just starting up his own business and health insurance does not favor the self employed! Inshallah I hope to find a crack in this market and finally find a job after 5 months of hunting.

I probably will fit in a few surfing trips to San Diego in between job hunting as well. Surfing is such an amazing sport and I consider it a form of worship to Allah. The sheer force of the Ocean puts you at His mercy. When you have a good day out in the waves you feel in awe and grateful to be alive. Everyone should try the sport sometime. You can totally hijabify your wetsuit as the Pacific is one cold Ocean so covering up is a must!”

As always there are plenty of giveaways so don’t worry… you might be next! :)
